steadicam
The Steadicam was invented by Garret Brown in the late 1970’s for use on the first Rocky film. Since then its been used on many films such as Atonement, The Shining and of course the famous shot in Goodfellas.
Steadicam is a stabilizing mount for most cameras which mechanically isolates the operator's movement from the camera, allowing a very smooth shot even when the operator is moving quickly or over an uneven surface.
Between us we have used Steadicam on a variety of productions, from film to television, commercials to promos.
