The later models of Super Speeds built and developed from the MK1’s heritage. These lenses keep the same small size factor of the originals but with new mechanics. They have a seven bladed iris which gives you a nice but much more regular bokeh. They are marginally faster than the MK1’s at T1.3 and optically they are sharper and have better contrast to them.
Master Primes eventually took their place as the go-to lens for low light shoots as they were even further optically refined, but the Super Speeds have been a favourite for decades and are still very popular, allowing that fast aperture but retaining more character.
